How AlphaTech Cameras Work: Setup & Playback
Watch AlphaTech camera demonstrations for setup, live viewing and saved-video playback. Choose your model below: USB-C No-Wi-Fi, Original USB No-Wi-Fi, USB-C (Type-C) Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Remote View.
A no-Wi-Fi camera records to a memory card inside the camera. It needs power and a compatible microSD card, but no router, internet connection or camera app to record. To watch the footage, you access the saved files afterward on a compatible phone or computer. The Wi-Fi demonstrations show app setup and live viewing instead.

How does a camera record without Wi-Fi?
The camera writes video to its microSD card while it has external power. When you want to review a recording, you use a compatible card reader to access that card. The phone or computer plays a saved file; it is not receiving a live stream from the camera.
Both AlphaTech no-Wi-Fi models support compatible microSD cards up to 512GB. The memory card is sold separately. You also need suitable power, a compatible reader or adapter, and a device that can play the recorded file.
Before a longer recording, make a short test clip with your intended setup. Open that clip to check the camera angle, lighting and playback. Recording time depends on the card capacity, mode and activity.
USB-C No-Wi-Fi: from the camera to your phone
The USB-C No-Wi-Fi Camera provides a 160° wide-angle view, motion-activated recording and loop recording. It records from a suitable wall outlet. With loop recording, older footage is replaced as the card fills, so copy the clips you want to keep.

- Access the card. Follow the model's instructions to stop recording before removing the microSD card. Put it into a compatible card reader.
- Connect to your viewing device. In this demonstration, the reader connects to an Android phone through a USB-C adapter.
- Open a saved clip. The presenter opens My Files, selects USB storage, opens the VIDEO folder and chooses a recording in a video player. Menu names may differ on your device.

Original USB No-Wi-Fi: computer and phone tutorials
The Original USB No-Wi-Fi Camera records 1080p video locally and offers motion-activated recording. It uses external power from a wall outlet or a compatible power bank. Use the instructions for this model when preparing the card and selecting settings.
This tutorial demonstrates the reader connection and saved-video playback on a Mac. Jump to 0:31 for the reader or 1:01 for the computer walkthrough.
For this Original model, we also have an iPhone tutorial and an Android tutorial. These demonstrate specific phone and adapter combinations; check compatibility with your own device and follow the guide supplied with your camera.
Before you choose a no-Wi-Fi camera
Can I watch recordings on my phone?
Yes, with a compatible phone, reader or adapter, and video playback support. A matching USB-C connector alone does not confirm compatibility. An iPhone with a Lightning connector needs a compatible Lightning reader or adapter. If you are unsure, ask us about your phone and intended reader before ordering.
Does “no camera app” mean I need no software at all?
No camera-pairing app or Wi-Fi setup is needed for these no-Wi-Fi models to record. You still use a file browser and a compatible video player to open saved files. The USB-C demonstration uses the phone's My Files browser.
Can I check a live view while I am away?
These two no-Wi-Fi cameras do not provide remote live viewing. You need access to the memory card to review footage. If checking from another location is your priority, choose a Wi-Fi model and follow its connection requirements.
What if the card or video does not appear?
First check that your reader is compatible with the viewing device and that the card appears as external storage. If the card is visible, look for the recording folder and try a compatible video player. Contact us with your camera model, phone or computer, reader and the message you see so we can help with your exact setup.
Wi-Fi cameras: live viewing through an app
A Wi-Fi camera connects through its camera app so you can check a live view from another location. Remote viewing requires suitable power, the camera's supported Wi-Fi connection and internet access. Follow the instructions for the particular model; the card-reader walkthroughs above are for the no-Wi-Fi cameras.
USB-C (Type-C) Wi-Fi: app setup, live view and recordings
The USB-C Wi-Fi Camera provides a 160° wide-angle view and works with Tuya Smart or Smart Life. It needs continuous external power, a secure 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi connection and internet access for viewing and recording.
